A Prayer for Deliverance from Deception
"Rid me, and deliver me from the hand of strange children, whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood:" - Psalms 144:11

Heavenly Father,
I come before You today with a heart full of gratitude for Your unfailing love and mercy. In the face of the challenges and trials that I encounter, I seek Your guidance and protection as I navigate through a world full of deception and falsehood. Your Word, O Lord, is my anchor, and today I turn to the wisdom of Psalm 144:11, where it says: "Rid me, and deliver me from the hand of strange children, whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood."
Father, I acknowledge that we live in a time where the voices of falsehood seem to rise louder and more persuasive. The ‘strange children’ represent those who may seek to lead me astray with their enticing words and alluring promises that do not align with Your truth. I ask that You rid me of their influence in my life. Help me to recognize deceit when it presents itself in peaceful garb, and give me the strength to turn away from the lure of vanity that might seek to disturb my spirit and cloud my mind.
As I step into each day, Lord, I pray for discernment. I need Your wisdom to see beyond the surface of words spoken and to uncover the heart behind them. There are many who dress lies in the finery of sweet talk, and it is easy to be enticed by their hollow promises. Teach me to listen carefully and to weigh every word against the standard of Your truth. Help me to measure every interaction and every relationship by their fruit, and may I be quick to distance myself from that which is not of You.
Lord, I am weary from the burdens of being misled and from the pain that falsehood brings. I ask for Your deliverance—deliver me from harmful influences and relationships that threaten to lead me away from Your path. I trust in Your ability to bring me safely through this storm, to keep me anchored in the safety of Your love, and to surround me with individuals who reflect Your light and truth.
Heavenly Father, I repent for the times I have been swayed by the empty promises of the world and for the moments I have let my guard down, allowing the ‘strange children’ into my thoughts and my heart. I seek Your forgiveness for any unwise choices I’ve made as a result of listening to voices that do not serve me, but rather seek to ensnare me in deception. In Your mercy, cleanse me and refine my spirit so that I may be equipped to stand firm against the schemes of the enemy. I pray for a heart that yearns for Your truth above all else.
Let my mouth be a vessel for Your grace and truth, my Lord. May I speak words that uplift and edify, forsaking all forms of vanity. Fill me with a desire to communicate with integrity, to reflect Your love in all that I say and do. Guide my tongue, Lord, that I may be a beacon of truth in a world desperate for authenticity.
I also lift up those around me, Lord. There are so many who are trapped in vanity and falsehood, unaware of the danger that surrounds them. I ask that You reach them with Your mighty hand, that they may receive the truth that You impart so generously. Equip me, Father, to be an instrument of Your love and truth, as I engage with others, helping them to see the light in the midst of uncertainty.
In all things, I rely on Your strength, trusting that You will deliver me from the hand of those who seek to lead me astray. I am secure in knowing that You are my shield and fortress. Thank you for your continuous provision, love, and guidance.
In Jesus’ holy name, I pray, Amen.
