"Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues." - Psalms 31:20

O Lord God, the Creator of all things, the Alpha and the Omega, we come before You today with hearts full of gratitude and reverence. We pause in this sacred moment to meditate on Your word as written in Psalm 31:20, where it says, "Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues." Lord, how comforting it is to know that You have a divine provision for us amidst the trials of life.

Heavenly Father, as we lead our lives in a world that often seems chaotic and filled with the pride of man, we seek Your refuge. The pride of man is overwhelming, and it manifests itself in many forms—arrogance, selfishness, and the harsh judgments of others, O Lord. We frequently feel cornered and attacked by those who seek to bring us down instead of lifting us up. In these moments, we find solace in Your promise that You will hide us in the secret of Your presence. We ask, dear Father, that You would envelop us in Your love and shield us from the harsh realities of pride and the disdain that can permeate our interactions with others.

Abba Father, we come before You as vulnerable beings in need of Your strength and guidance. We desire to dwell continually in that secret place, where only You can protect us. Help us to recognize the moments we need to retreat into Your presence, to seek Your face, and to find our rest in You. May we establish a deeper connection with You through prayer and worship, so that we may experience the peace that transcends all understanding.

In moments where the strife of tongues tries to pierce our hearts and sow discord in our minds, remind us, Lord, that You have prepared a pavilion for us. A holy sanctuary where we can be safe from the verbal assaults and gossip that sometimes come our way. Help us to remember that while words have power, Your word holds more power. Your promises are the refuge we can turn to in times of need. Let us be reminded that we are Your children, cherished and protected by You.

Father, we pray for the strength to rise above the strife that others may attempt to instigate. Help us to respond with grace when faced with negativity and strife, remembering that anger does not accomplish Your righteousness. Teach us to speak life and truth into every situation, rather than getting entangled in conflict. May Your love radiate through us, even when confronted with the pride of man. Let our response be characterized by humility and kindness, reflecting the very nature of Christ.

Holy Spirit, we invite You into our hearts, to fill us with wisdom and understanding. Grant us the discernment to know when we must retreat into that secret place and when we should engage in the world around us. Surround us with wise counsel and encourage us to lean on one another as we navigate through life’s challenges. Help us to be conduits of Your love, to bring light into places filled with darkness and strife.

As we finish this prayer, dear Lord, we express our gratitude for the assurance that You are a fortress for us. Even when the storms of pride and strife rage on, we have the confidence to dwell in Your secret presence where peace and protection reign. Hold us close, dear Father, and may we forever find solace in the shelter You provide. We submit ourselves to Your will, trusting that in Your pavilion, we shall remain victorious.

In the precious name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
