O Great and Sovereign God,

We come before You today with hearts lifted in reverence and gratitude, acknowledging the abundant goodness that flows from Your throne. In the sanctuary of Your grace, we find solace as we reflect on the profound truth found in Psalm 68:10 which declares, "Thy congregation hath dwelt therein: thou, O God, hast prepared of thy goodness for the poor." Lord, this verse resonates deeply within us, a reminder of the way You provide for all who seek refuge in Your presence.

Your congregation, O Lord, is a beautiful tapestry woven together by diverse lives and unique stories. We thank You for gathering us as one body, where we are encouraged and uplifted by one another. Each member adds value to this divine assembly; You allow us to dwell together in unity, reminding us that we are not alone in our struggles and joys. Help us to cherish and nurture the bonds we share; may we be instruments of Your love, reaching out to those who feel isolated and lost.

Gracious God, we acknowledge that among us dwell the poor and needy—those who experience want in heart, spirit, or body. You have prepared for them through Your goodness, and it is our sacred responsibility as your congregation to extend that goodness to others. May we own our calling to serve, not just in words, but in actions that reflect compassion and empathy. Inspire us to open our eyes to the needs around us and to respond with hearts that overflow with generosity. Help us to understand that every act of kindness, no matter how small, is a reflection of Your love.

Lord, we lift up those who find themselves in dire circumstances—those who grieve the loss of their livelihood, those burdened by illness, and those who struggle under the weight of despair. Touch these lives, O God, and let them feel Your presence more profoundly than ever before. You have prepared goodness for them; may they encounter that goodness through our hands and hearts. As a community, help us to create an environment where they feel seen, valued, and nourished. Let us provide not only material sustenance but also spiritual edification, that they may know their worth in Your eyes.

Father, in our striving to be conduits of Your goodness, grant us the wisdom to see beyond superficial solutions. Teach us to listen actively and with intention—to hear the stories that lie behind their circumstances. Break our hearts for what breaks Yours, so that we may engage in meaningful outreach that addresses the root issues of poverty and despair. Equip us with the tools we need, whether it be through sharing our skills, our resources, or our time.

O God, we also pray for the strength and encouragement for those who serve You day after day, working tirelessly to bring relief and support to our communities. Foster in them an unwavering spirit that continues to shine brightly even in times of adversity. Renew their strength when they grow weary, and fill them with hope when the answers seem out of reach. Remind them that their labor is not in vain, for You see their efforts, and they are cherished in Your sight.

As we gather together as a congregation, may our hearts beat as one in the pursuit of justice and mercy for the poor. May we always endeavor to be reflections of Your love, and may we never forget that in serving others, we serve You. Let our unity radiate your glory, bringing light into the darkness that surrounds those in need.
