Heavenly Father,

As we come before You in reverence and humility, we reflect upon the poignant words of Psalm 90:15: "Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us, and the years wherein we have seen evil." Lord, our hearts are heavy at times, burdened by the weight of our struggles and the afflictions we have faced. Yet, in Your divine wisdom, we seek Your presence to transform our sorrow into joy, our mourning into gladness.

We acknowledge, O God, the trials that life has brought our way. In these moments of suffering, it can be easy to lose sight of Your goodness. We often find ourselves entangled in the memories of our misfortunes, the grief that has infiltrated our lives, and the evil that has left its mark on our hearts. But, Lord, we know that You are a God who redeems and restores, and we hold fast to the belief that joy can spring forth even in the dry places of our lives.

Father, we ask that You would help us to remember the days of our affliction not as a curse, but as a canvas upon which Your grace has painted our stories. Let us look back at our tears not with despair but with gratitude for the strength we have gained in our weakness. In times when the storms raged and hope seemed distant, You were our anchor, keeping our souls steadfast. Remind us of the lessons we’ve learned during these hardships and how they have molded us into who we are today.

Lord, open our eyes to see the beauty that can emerge through suffering. Teach us to embrace our past—every painful moment and every challenge faced—not as a burden but as an integral part of Your perfect plan. Let the trials that have marked our years become testimonies of Your faithfulness and mercy.

Make us glad, dear Lord! We yearn for the joy that can only come from You. Fill our spirits with a profound gladness that does not depend on our circumstances but is rooted deeply in our relationship with You. Reveal to us the joy of our salvation, the delight of Your presence, and the promises that You extend to us even in our darkest hours. May our laughter be genuine once more, and our hearts filled with the song of Your unfailing love.

We also pray for those who are currently navigating through their own seasons of affliction and evil. May Your comforting hand rest upon them, Lord. Infuse their hearts with hope and help them to cling to the assurance of Your everlasting presence. Remind them that their days of difficulty will not last forever, and they too shall experience the joy that is set before them by Your grace.

Gracious God, as we plead for joy, we also seek contentment with the realities of our past. Let us not compare our lives to others but rejoice in the unique paths that You have set before each of us. Help us to find purpose in our past afflictions, knowing that they have brought us closer to Your heart and deeper into the understanding of Your love.

Lord, we bring our hearts before You, asking for Your divine touch. Heal the wounds of our past and transform our suffering into a symphony of praise. May each day suited with affliction be followed with a glorious season of gladness. May our years marked by evil only emphasize the triumph of Your light in our lives.
