A Prayer of Glory and Strength to the Lord
"Give unto the LORD, O ye kindreds of the people, give unto the LORD glory and strength." - Psalms 96:7

O Sovereign Lord, Almighty God, Creator of heaven and earth,
We come to You this day, with humble hearts and grateful spirits, lifting our voices in reverence and adoration, just as the psalmist urged in Psalm 96:7, "Give unto the LORD, O ye kindreds of the people, give unto the LORD glory and strength." We recognize that all creation speaks of Your glory, and our desire is to echo that praise with our very beings.
Lord, we acknowledge Your greatness, for from the very foundation of the world, You have been at work. You formed us in our mothers’ wombs and breathed into us the breath of life. We thank You for Your mercy and grace that has followed us every day. With every heartbeat and every breath, we are reminded of Your unending love and faithfulness. We are kindreds of various backgrounds, cultures, and walks of life, yet in You, we find our unity and purpose.
As we gather together, we offer unto You, O Lord, our collective glory and strength. Teach us what it truly means to glorify You with our lives. Let us not be content with merely uttering praise, but let our actions, our thoughts, and our entire beings reflect Your majesty. Help us to glorify You not only in worship but through acts of kindness, service, and love to one another. For in glorifying You, we become vessels of Your light in a dark world.
Heavenly Father, we also present unto You the strength we have, knowing that every ounce of power, intellect, and ability comes from You. Teach us to dedicate our strengths—for indeed, they are an extension of Your greatness in us. Let us not rely solely on our own strength; rather, let us lean on You, for Your Word assures us that when we are weak, then we are strong through You. Empower us to serve with vigor and dedication, knowing that our labor in Your name is never in vain.
Lord, we pray for the strength to give You the glory that is due. Grant us the courage to stand firm in our faith amidst trials and tribulations, understanding that our weaknesses may be the very occasions for You to reveal Your strength in our lives. Help us to proclaim Your goodness and faithfulness, declaring Your works among the people. May we fill our hearts with the remembrance of Your blessings so that we overflow with gratitude and praise.
As we consider the challenges facing our communities, our nations, and our world, we ask for a fresh outpouring of Your Spirit upon us. Let Your glory reign in the hearts of all people, coaxing them to recognize You as the one true God. Ignite a fervor for worship within our churches and encourage us to come together in unity, praising Your name with one voice. Let us not hesitate to proclaim Your strength as we share the gospel of Jesus Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation.
Help us to live lives that give You glory, reflecting the beauty of Your holiness. May we be a people marked by joy and peace, even in tumultuous times, for we know that our strength is drawn from the joy of the Lord.
O Lord, pour out Your blessings upon us as we dedicate our lives and our families to You. Fulfill Your promise to be our strength and guide. As we offer to You our worship and our strength, may they be a sweet-smelling sacrifice, pleasing in Your sight.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray,
Amen.
