Eternal Sovereignty: A Prayer of Acknowledgment and Worship

"I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty." - Revelation 1:8

"I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty." - Revelation 1:{verse.verse_number}

Heavenly Father,

We come before You in reverence and awe, embracing the profound truth encapsulated in Your Word as we reflect on the declaration of Revelation 1:8, where You proclaim, "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty." Lord, as we enter into Your presence, we do so with hearts full of gratitude for who You are — the Eternal One, transcendent and omnipotent, whose very nature defies the bounds of time.

Father, we acknowledge You as the Alpha, the first and the foremost. Before the foundations of the earth were laid, You existed in perfect unity and love. From the beginning of creation, You spoke, and the universe sprang into existence. Your divine will created the cosmos, every star, every planet, and every living creature came forth by Your command. We stand amazed at Your creativity and power, and we worship You as our Creator.

Lord, as we meditate on the title Omega, we recognize that You also encompass the end. You hold the future in Your hands; nothing escapes Your sovereign knowledge and control. You have established the times and seasons, and You know the concluding chapters of history. We take comfort in the assurance that all things will ultimately fulfill Your divine purpose. Help us, Holy Father, to trust in Your plans for our lives, knowing that You are guiding us towards the completion of Your perfect will.

As we contemplate the truth that You are both the beginning and the ending, we ask that You deepen our understanding of Your eternal nature. Teach us how to live in a way that reflects the permanence of Your character. Help us to long for You above all else, to seek first Your kingdom, and to understand that everything in our lives — our past, present, and future — is anchored in You.

Your words, "which is, and which was, and which is to come," remind us of Your constant presence in our lives. In our moments of joy, You are there, celebrating with us. In our moments of sorrow, You are there to comfort us, for You are the God who cares deeply for His creation. We praise You for Your unchanging nature amidst the shifting sands of life. You are our steadfast anchor, unmovable in a world where so much is uncertain. We lift our hearts to You, grateful for the assurance that we need not fear, for You are always near.

Almighty God, You reign with supreme authority over all things. Nothing can compare to Your might; no problem is too great for You to handle. We bow before You, acknowledging Your omnipotence, and we bring before You the burdens of our hearts. Those who are weary, sick, or lost in despair, we lift them up to You. Demonstrate Your power in their lives and provide them with the hope that comes from knowing You.

As we conclude our prayer, we rekindle our commitment to live for Your glory. Instill in us a sense of urgency to share this astonishing truth of who You are with others. May our lives reflect the light of Christ that draws others toward Your love. Empower us through Your Spirit to be vessels of Your grace.

We thank You, Lord, for being the Alpha and Omega. Our prayer is that You may be glorified in our lives, today and always. In the precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
