A Prayer for Righteousness and Divine Array

"And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints." - Revelation 19:8

"And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints." - Revelation 19:{verse.verse_number}

Heavenly Father,

We come before You today in reverence and humility, acknowledging Your sovereignty and grace. As we meditate on Your Word, particularly Revelation 19:8, we are reminded of the beauty and necessity of righteousness in our walk with You. The verse states, "And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.” Lord, let us be gripped by this profound truth about the attire of Your beloved people. It is not merely clothing but a reflection of purity, holiness, and the beautiful relationship we have with You.

Father, we thank You for granting us the opportunity to be clothed in such fine linen – a symbol of purity and righteousness. This clean and white garment represents our identity as Your saints, chosen and beloved. Yet, we recognize that we cannot attain this righteousness on our own. We acknowledge that it is a gift from You, bestowed upon us through the sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who took upon Himself our sins and clothe us in His righteousness.

As we delve into the significance of this fine linen, we pray that our lives would reflect the holiness You desire from us. Help us to understand that being ‘arrayed’ in fine linen means more than an external representation of who we are. It means allowing the righteousness of Christ to permeate our thoughts, actions, and attitudes. We seek to embody this righteousness in every aspect of our lives. Help us to forsake our old ways, our sins, and to embrace the new creation we are in You.

Lord, we ask for forgiveness for the times we have chosen the garments of sin and unrighteousness. We have at times neglected the call to holiness and have instead worn the rags of our transgressions. Yet, in Your infinite mercy, You remind us that it is never too late to return to You. Just as the prodigal son was welcomed back with open arms, help us to understand that we can always come back to Your embrace. Cleanse us, O Lord, and wash us white as snow so we may be worthy of the fine linen You have prepared for us.

We pray that our desire for righteousness would be reignited within us today. Instill in us a passion for holiness, a hunger for Your presence, and a thirst for Your Word. Surround us with Your Spirit and guide us as we navigate through the trials of this world. May we fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, trusting that through Him, we are made right before You.

As we await the day when we will join the marriage supper of the Lamb and be fully arrayed in fine linen, may we strive to live in such a way that glorifies You. Help us to encourage one another in our journey, to lift each other up when we stumble, and to embody Your love and grace in our relationships.

Thank you, Lord, for the hope we find in the promise of Revelation 19:8. We long for the day when we will stand complete and perfect before You, arrayed in righteousness, unblemished and untarnished. Until that day, may our lives reflect Your glory, and may we be diligent in our pursuit of holiness.

In Jesus’ name, we pray,

Amen.
