A Prayer for Divine Clarity and Understanding

"Then lifted I up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came out two women, and the wind was in their wings; for they had wings like the wings of a stork: and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heaven. Then said I to the angel that talked with me, Whither do these bear the ephah? And he said unto me, To build it an house in the land of Shinar: and it shall be established, and set there upon her own base." - Zechariah 5:5-11

"Then lifted I up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came out two women, and the wind was in their wings; for they had wings like the wings of a stork: and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heaven. Then said I to the angel that talked with me, Whither do these bear the ephah? And he said unto me, To build it an house in the land of Shinar: and it shall be established, and set there upon her own base." - Zechariah 5:{verse.verse_number}

O Heavenly Father, Creator of the universe and the Knower of all things, we come before You today with humble hearts, seeking Your presence and guidance in our lives. We acknowledge Your magnificent wisdom and sovereignty over all creation. As we turn our gaze to Your Word, particularly to the vision revealed to Zechariah in Zechariah 5:5-11, we lift our eyes to the heavens, yearning to understand the mysteries You have laid before us.

O Lord, just as Zechariah looked and beheld the two women with wings like those of a stork, may we also open our eyes to see the wonders You wish to show us. We ask for Your Spirit to grant us insight as we reflect on this vision. "Then lifted I up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came out two women, and the wind was in their wings; for they had wings like the wings of a stork: and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heaven."

Father, we are reminded through this passage of Your divine power and authority over the elements, how You command the winds and animate the spirits. We pray that in our lives, we too may be lifted by Your Spirit, soaring above our earthly troubles and limitations, much like the women in this vision. Help us to be open to the divine whispers that guide us, directing our paths as we carry forth the burdens and blessings that You place in our hearts.

As Zechariah sought understanding, asking, "Whither do these bear the ephah?" let us also seek to understand the purpose of the ephah in our own lives. Help us to discern what burdens we carry and how we might use them for Your glory. Teach us, dear Lord, that the ephah, though it may symbolize judgment or sin, can also represent the measure of our faith and the call to action You give us.

Father, grant us clarity in recognizing our roles in Your grand design. Just as the angel provided insight to Zechariah, we ask that Your Holy Spirit illuminate our minds and hearts to discern Your will. "And he said unto me, To build it an house in the land of Shinar: and it shall be established, and set there upon her own base." May we be steadfast in our faith, working toward establishing Your Kingdom in our hearts and in our communities, just as the angel foretold the building of the house in Shinar.

Lord, we are reminded that You have laid a foundation for each of us and have called us to be part of a greater purpose. Help us to bear the weight of our own ephahs—our trials, struggles, and responsibilities—knowing that in You we find our strength and resolve. May they become not a burden, but a means by which we draw closer to You.

As we build our lives upon the foundation of Your love and truth, encourage us to extend that same grace to others. Let our actions reflect the transformative power of Your Spirit, as we seek to bring hope, healing, and redemption to a world in need. Though we may carry the ephahs symbolic of our failures, may they serve as reminders of Your mercy and grace, leading us to places of restoration and renewal.

Father, in our journey to establish Your house within us, guide our hands and hearts in service to You and to those around us. Empower us with purpose as we lift our eyes from the earth toward heaven, embracing the mission laid before us. May we always be attuned to the winds of Your Spirit, ready to soar into the calling You have placed in our lives.

In Jesus' mighty name, we pray, Amen.

Zechariah 5:5-11 - "Then the angel who was speaking to me came forward and said to me, "Look up and see what is appearing." I asked, "What is it?" He replied, "It is a basket." And he added, "This is the iniquity of the people throughout the land." Then the cover of lead was raised, and there in the basket sat a woman! He said, "This is wickedness," and he pushed her back into the basket and pushed its lead cover down on it.

Then I looked up—and there before me were two women, with the wind in their wings! They had wings like those of a stork, and they lifted up the basket between heaven and earth. "Where are they taking the basket?" I asked the angel who was speaking to me. He replied, "To the country of Babylonia to build a house for it. When the house is ready, the basket will be set there in its place.""
