A Prayer for Faith in God’s Marvelous Works
"Thus saith the LORD of hosts; If it be marvellous in the eyes of the remnant of this people in these days, should it also be marvellous in mine eyes? saith the LORD of hosts." - Zechariah 8:6

Heavenly Father,
We come before You today with hearts full of gratitude and expectation, holding closely the wondrous words found in Your holy scripture, specifically in Zechariah 8:6: "Thus saith the LORD of hosts; If it be marvellous in the eyes of the remnant of this people in these days, should it also be marvellous in mine eyes? saith the LORD of hosts." Lord, how deeply profound these words are as we reflect on Your endless capacity for miracles and the incredible plans You hold for us, even when we find ourselves doubting or overwhelmed by the world around us.
Dear God, we acknowledge that Your ways are higher than our ways, and Your thoughts higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:9). Help us to see beyond the ordinary into the extraordinary, beyond the mundane into the miraculous! We oftentimes find ourselves standing in disbelief at the very wonders that are unfolding right before our eyes. Let us not become so accustomed to our circumstances that we lose sight of Your majesty and power. You are the Creator of the heavens and the earth, the One who brought forth life from the void, and we are here to declare that Your goodness continues to abound.
Lord, while the remnant in Zechariah's time was witnessing incredible shifts and changes, we also stand in a time when transformations can seem daunting—yet exhilarating. We desire to recognize the marvelous workings of Your hands around us. Help us, Lord, to seek out these moments of splendor and divine encounters. Open our eyes, dear Lord, to perceive the ways in which You are moving in our lives, our churches, and our communities. May we not just see the challenges but also the glorious opportunities that You have set before us.
In the chaos of this world, we find it easy to fix our eyes on the trials—that which worries us, that which confounds us—but Your Word reminds us in Zechariah that in Your eyes, there are no limits to what is possible for those who believe. Help us to shift our perspective from what we cannot do to what You are capable of doing through us. Lord, we are reminded that if we can believe, all things are possible (Mark 9:23).
Lord, as we pray for renewal and revival in our hearts, let us also intercede for our families, our communities, and the remnant that stands faithful in these days. Let us rise up in faith, knowing that we are not limited by our circumstances but are empowered by the God of hosts. Ignite within us a spark of hope that breathes life into our dreams and aspirations, and help us to move forward knowing that we are indeed covered by Your grace and Your power.
Heavenly Father, oftentimes, we feel like the remnant standing in the ruins, surrounded by past failures, doubts, and discouragement. Teach us to hold onto faith, to believe in visions of restoration. Remind us that even in our weak moments, You are still working marvels. May we not grow despondent, but rather may we rise, believing that You can turn our mourning into dancing, our despair into praise.
As we close this prayer, Lord, we ask for a revival of faith. We seek a fresh outpouring of Your spirit that will open our hearts to receive the marvelous gifts You have prepared for us. Let us never forget that we serve a God who delights in the marvelous, who delights in His creation, and who receives glory from our praises. Embrace us, Lord, in Your love, and may we emerge from our prayers renewed and filled with anticipation of Your incredible works.
In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
