In this moment, we reflect on the profound significance of the Passover, as depicted in 2 Chronicles 35:11: "And they killed the passover, and the priests sprinkled the blood from their hands, and the Levites flayed them." We stand in awe of this moment in history where the act of sacrifice being made served not merely as a ritual, but as a crucial manifestation of obedience, reverence, and deep devotion to Your covenant.

Father, as we dive into the deeper meaning of this scripture, we ask for Your wisdom and understanding. We are reminded of the weight of sin and the necessity of sacrifice, a theme that weaves through the fabric of Your Word. The shedding of blood, a sacrificial offering, was required for the atonement of Your people, pointing us to the ultimate sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who offered Himself for our sins. Lord, we recognize that just as the Israelites prepared for the Passover, we too must prepare our hearts. Help us to examine our lives and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. God of the Levites, who were appointed to Your service, enable us to understand the seriousness of our call.
