A Prayer for Seeking the Lord and Embracing the Gentiles

"That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things." - Acts 15:17

"That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things." - Acts 15:{verse.verse_number}

Heavenly Father,

In humble submission, we come before you today, overwhelmed by your eternal love and grace that transcends all boundaries. As I meditate on the words found in the book of Acts, chapter 15, verse 17 – "That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things,” I am filled with an awe of your divine plan for humanity.

Lord, we recognize that your desire is for all people, regardless of their background or past, to seek after you. You are the Creator who knows each of us by name, reminding us of our worth and purpose. We thank you, Lord, for your relentless pursuit of our hearts, calling us to a deeper relationship with You. Your invitation extends beyond the walls of tradition and cultural expectations, drawing every residue of man into the richness of your love.

Gracious God, we pray for those who feel lost, disheartened, or distanced from you. May their search for truth and meaning lead them directly to you, the source of life and hope. Stir in them a desire to seek you whole-heartedly. Help them recognize your presence in their lives, even in the shadows of despair. Open their eyes to see that you have called them with a purpose – to belong to your family, to be part of your Kingdom.

Lord, I lift up the Gentiles in our communities, those who may feel alienated or unworthy of your love. May they come to understand that your name encompasses all, shattering the barriers that divide us. Let them feel the warmth of your embrace and the joy of being accepted into your fold. Help us, as your followers, to extend our hands and hearts, mirroring your acceptance and love toward every individual who crosses our paths.

Father, we ask you to forgive us for any prejudice or bias we may have unknowingly harbored. Help us to see every person through your eyes – as a beloved child, deserving of grace and dignity. Instill in us a spirit of compassion, that we may actively seek out those who are marginalized, and be willing vessels of your mercy. May we become a community that reflects your heart toward the least of these, creating a safe haven for the searching and the broken.

In this season of seeking, awaken our spirits and renew our commitment to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with all without distinction. May our lives be a testimony of your transformative power, that others might be drawn to you through our words and actions. May we not only speak of your love but also embody it, creating spaces for healing and reconciliation.

Mighty God, we acknowledge that you are the one who doeth all these things. Our strength is in you, and our resolve comes from your spirit within us. Empower us to take action in faith and boldness, knowing that our labor is not in vain, but it is part of your greater purpose to unify all men under your name. Let us be ignited with a passion for outreach, contributing to a movement that seeks to reconcile all nations to you, Lord.

As we step forward, may we carry the light of your love into the dark corners of the world. May the residue of men that are seeking you find hope, guidance, and salvation in our presence, all for your glory. Let our cries be heard – may your name be called upon, and may every person come to know you as their Savior and Lord.

We bless your holy name and commit to you our intentions. Thank you for making us part of your mission on earth. We eagerly await the day when every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
