Heavenly Father,

We come before You with grateful hearts, acknowledging Your infinite wisdom and boundless grace. Today, we reflect upon the verse from Acts 6:6, "Whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them." Lord, this profound moment within the early church exemplifies the essence of our faith, emphasizing both the power of prayer and the significance of community in our spiritual walk.

As we delve into the depths of this scripture, we ask You to ignite within us a renewed spirit of dedication to service. Today's world is filled with distractions that often pull us away from our purpose as believers. Help us to remain steadfast in our calling, empowered by the Holy Spirit, to serve others both inside and outside the church walls.

Lord, as the apostles prayed over those chosen to serve, we recognize the importance of bringing our decisions and actions before You. Teach us to seek Your guidance in all things, constantly reminding us that service is not about the recognition we receive, but about our commitment to reflect Your love to others.

We lift up to You those who have been designated to lead and serve within our congregations. Just as the apostles laid their hands upon those chosen in Acts, we ask that You bless and empower our leaders. May their hearts be filled with wisdom and discernment as they shepherd Your flock. Enable them to see the needs of our community clearly and give them the courage to act wisely and justly. Remind them that they are instruments of Your peace

As Your hands and feet in this world, strengthen us, Lord! Grant us the humility to recognize that we are all called to serve, regardless of our station in life. Help us to approach our tasks with a sincere heart, willing to do whatever is needed to advance Your Kingdom here on earth. Withdraw any feelings of pride or self-importance from our hearts, replacing them with a spirit of service and a desire to uplift those around us.

Father, may our prayers for others echo that of the apostles. Let us be a community that covers one another in prayer, seeking Your divine intervention in every endeavor undertaken in Your name. When we gather together, whether for worship or fellowship, remind us of the strength that lies in unity. Help us to pray with faith and to expect that, as we lay our hands on those in need, You will move mightily in their lives.

We also pray for those who are struggling within our families, our communities, and our world. Lord, lay Your hand upon them and heal their hearts. We ask for Your grace to be poured out on the weary, the hopeless, and the broken. May they know that they are cherished and that through prayer and community, they can find healing and restoration. Help us be conduits of Your love, bringing hope where there is despair.

As we contemplate the weight of “laying on hands,” let us remember that it symbolizes not only blessing but accountability. We are called to support one another; may we never shy away from affirming each other in our spiritual journeys. Teach us to hold each other accountable as we strive to grow closer to You.

Lastly, Lord, may every service we render and every prayer we utter be glorifying unto Your name. As we come together in unity, laying our hands on one another, let the world see Your light through our actions. For we know that it is not by our might, but by Your Spirit that the kingdom of God is advanced.
