A Prayer for Divine Favor and Wisdom
"And delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favour and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house." - Acts 7:10

O Heavenly Father, Creator of all that is, I come before You humbly, acknowledging Your sovereign power and infinite wisdom. As I meditate upon the words found in Acts 7:10, I am reminded of how You delivered Joseph from all his afflictions, granting him favor and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh, and elevating him to a place of great honor and responsibility. Lord, I seek Your divine favor and wisdom just as Joseph did.
In a world filled with trials and tribulations, I find solace in knowing that You are the ultimate rescuer. Just as You delivered Joseph from the pit of despair and the chains of bondage, I ask that You reach into the depths of my troubles and bring forth deliverance. Help me, Father, to recognize the afflictions that weigh heavily upon my spirit, and grant me strength to endure.
Lord, bless me with a heart that seeks after You during my afflictions. Like Joseph, may I turn my eyes toward You, trusting in Your divine plan even when the path seems obscure. Let me find comfort in the knowledge that You can turn my hardships into stepping stones for greater opportunities. Help me to hold onto hope, believing that You are working all things together for my good (Romans 8:28).
As I pursue the wisdom that only You can provide, I pray for Your guidance in my life's decisions. You bestowed wisdom upon Joseph in the court of Pharaoh; I ask that You fill me with the same level of discernment and insight to navigate the challenges that come my way. Let me seek knowledge and understanding, aligning my thoughts and actions with Your will. Grant me clarity and astuteness, so that I may be a vessel of Your purpose in every situation I encounter.
I pray also for favor, Lord—favor with those in authority, favor in my relationships, and favor in my endeavors. As Joseph found himself favored in the eyes of Pharaoh, I ask that You open doors for me that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). Let Your light shine upon me and through me, illuminating a path of favor that leads to opportunities to serve and glorify Your name.
In this world that is often darkened by doubt and discontent, I pray that I may be a beacon of Your truth and grace. May the wisdom I receive from You empower me to lead others in righteousness. Like Joseph who became a governor, let my actions point others toward You, nurturing an environment where faith can flourish.
As I seek to live out my calling, I pray that You give me the courage to rise above my circumstances. When I encounter trials, grant me perseverance. When obstacles arise, let my foundation be securely set in Your word. Equip me to face adversity with the same spirit as Joseph—regardless of the challenges ahead, may my heart remain steadfast in trust and faith.
Father, I also lift up those who are walking through their own afflictions. May they feel Your presence and experience Your comfort as You guide them toward their own seasons of favor and triumph. Help us to stand as a community of believers who lift one another in prayer, sharing our burdens and celebrating each other's victories. Let us be mirrors reflecting Your love and grace.
As I close this prayer, I praise You, Lord, for Your promises, for your deliverance, and for Your favor. May my life, filled with the wisdom and grace that comes from knowing You, be a testament to Your goodness. I entrust my future into Your hands, believing wholeheartedly that You are capable of exceeding my expectations in ways beyond my understanding.
In the mighty name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.
