A Prayer for Understanding and Recognition of Divine Works
"Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?" - John 10:32

Heavenly Father,
As I come before You, I am reminded of the powerful words spoken by our Lord Jesus Christ in John 10:32: "Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?" Lord, I pause to reflect on the significance of these words and the depth of their meaning. In a world that often casts doubt and throws stones of criticism, I pray that You open my heart and mind to understanding Your many good works that are manifest in our lives and in the world around us.
Thank You, Lord, for the countless blessings You have poured into my life—the moments of joy, grace, and love that reflect Your goodness and mercy. Each day, You show me glimpses of Your handiwork, from the rising sun that illuminates the earth to the love shared between family and friends. Yet, just like the people who confronted Your Son, I sometimes fail to see or acknowledge these gifts. I ask for forgiveness for the times I have taken Your good works for granted or disregarded the miracles unfolding in ordinary moments.
Lord, help me to grasp the significance of the works You have done through Jesus. He demonstrated Your love and compassion in every act—healing the sick, giving sight to the blind, feeding the hungry, and offering hope to the hopeless. I pray that I may never forget these acts of kindness and divine intervention. Instead, let them inspire me to live a life of gratitude and service to others. Teach me to recognize Your presence in both the grand miracles and the simple acts of kindness that surround me daily.
As I reflect on the people's response to the works of Christ, I am struck by the propensity to respond with skepticism or disbelief. I pray that I may not be among those who would choose to stone rather than celebrate Your good works. Help me to cultivate a heart that is open and receptive to Your message and the actions You call us to take. May I always seek to understand rather than to criticize; to uplift rather than to tear down.
Lord, give me the discernment to see the goodness in others, recognizing that Your Spirit works through them just as it works through me. When I encounter challenges or disagreements, remind me that we are all reflections of Your creation, deserving of grace and mercy. Help me to remember that every person is on a journey of faith, and they too are witnesses to Your good works, even when I may not fully understand their path.
Heavenly Father, I ask for strength to stand firm in my faith and to testify of Your goodness. Let my life be a testament to the good works You have shown me, and may I never be ashamed of the Gospel. Instead of casting stones in judgment, may I extend love and compassion, remembering that every soul is valuable in Your sight. Equip me with the boldness to share my testimony of Your goodness, inspiring others to see You working in their lives.
In moments of doubt or discouragement, remind me of John 10:32. Let it remind me of the peace I can find in trusting in Your works and the assurance that no matter the trials I face, You are always present. May I find joy in recognizing the good works around me and actively contribute to creating a world where Your love can freely flow.
Thank You, Lord, for the gift of Your Son and the good works that reveal Your character. I am grateful for the opportunity to experience Your love daily and to share that love with others. Empower me to be a vessel of Your grace, so that I may glorify Your name in all that I do.
In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
