"And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them." - Luke 18:15

Heavenly Father,

In the quietness of this moment, we draw near to You, our hearts full of gratitude and wonder for Your unfathomable love and grace. As we reflect on the words from the Gospel of Luke, chapter 18, verse 15, where it is written, "And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them," we pause, O Lord, to seek understanding and to commune with You in prayer.

Father, Your Son, Jesus, showed His compassionate heart toward the little ones, forever reminding us that the kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these. In our world, where innocence is often overlooked and voices unheard, we ask for the wisdom to embrace the simplicity and purity embodied in children. Help us to recognize the significance of their presence in our lives, as Jesus did, inviting us to learn from the humility and faith of these little ones.

Lord, forgive us for the times we have, like the disciples, dismissed the needs and burdens of those whom we perceive as less significant or unworthy of attention. Teach us to see the world with the eyes of Christ, to approach every infant, every child, not as an inconvenience but as a precious gift. Grant us the grace to approach the vulnerable and the innocent with tenderness and love, rather than with judgment or misunderstanding.

We lift up to You, O God, the children of our families, our communities, and our world—the infants whom You have crafted with such care. We pray that You would bless them abundantly and protect them from the evils that seek to harm their innocence. May they always feel the warmth of Your presence and the touch of Your hand, just as the children reached out to Jesus, yearning for His love. Let them know they are seen, cherished, and important in Your eyes.

We also remember those children who may not have the luxury of safety and love—those caught in the web of poverty, neglect, or abuse. Lord, pour out Your compassion upon their lives. We ask that You raise up protectors and advocates who will stand for justice, who will shield the innocence of these young souls, and who will ensure that they, too, feel the tender touch of love that You extend through Your people.

God, inspire in us the call to be examples of Your unconditional love. May we embody the very essence of Christ, who welcomes children without hesitation. In a world rife with division and strife, let our hearts be open to embrace those whom society often shuns. May our actions reflect the heart of Jesus, who said, "Suffer little children to come unto me" (Luke 18:16), reminding us that in doing so, we come closer to understanding the fullness of Your kingdom.

We pray for our own spiritual maturity, that we may grow to become more childlike in our faith. Help us to trust unreservedly in Your goodness, to approach You with the humility and curiosity of a child, and to find joy in Your presence. Let us be quick to cast aside our pride and the complexities of adult worries, choosing instead the path of simplicity and trust.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the example set before us in Your Word. As we go forth, may we embody the teachings of Jesus, always ready to welcome the gentle spirits of children to our hearts and homes. Let our lives reflect Your love abundantly, ensuring that every child knows they are valuable and deserving of all that is good.

In the name of Jesus, who embraced children and welcomes us all into His loving arms, we pray. Amen.
