A Prayer of Wonder and Gratitude for Healing and Faith

“And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering.” — Acts 3:11

Commentary Devotional Prayer

Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, filled with awe and wonder at the miraculous works You have performed in our lives, just as we read in Acts 3:11, ‘And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon's, greatly wondering.’ Lord, we stand in the echoes of that ancient porch, where miracles were witnessed and faith was restored. We ask You to stir our hearts with the same wonder and gratitude that those gathered experienced that day.

Father, we thank You for the gift of healing. We remember the lame man who had long awaited relief from his suffering, his body broken and yet his spirit intact, yearning for a touch from You. We echo his longing as we bring forth our own burdens and those of our loved ones. May we always be reminded that in Your presence, there is healing—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Just as this man was restored, we ask that You look down upon us with compassion and grant healing to our afflicted souls and bodies. Remind us that we are Your beloved children, deserving of Your care and healing touch.

Lord, we also reflect on the role of Peter and John in this passage. They were mere men, but they carried Your light and the power of Your name. Help us, Lord, to be bearers of Your light in our communities. Instill in us the courage to reach out in love and compassion, to be vessels of Your grace and healing to those around us. May our faith inspire others to seek You, just as the people ran to Peter and John, eager to witness Your work.

As we pray for healing, open our eyes to see those who are spiritually lame among us, those who are downtrodden, lost, and searching. Let us not be caught up in our own lives but rather be compelled to offer them hope and faith, just as Peter and John did. Give us the strength to pray fervently, to speak boldly of Your miracles, and to point others to You. May we too, stand before a gathering of souls, calling upon Your name to bring forth healing and restoration.

Lord, let our hearts greatly wonder as we witness the transformative power of Your love. Just as the crowd gathered in Solomon's porch, let us marvel at the signs and wonders You perform among us daily. Teach us to recognize Your goodness in every healing, restoration, and act of love. Each day we encounter miracles large and small; help us to be present and aware, to share our testimonies with joy and gratitude to inspire faith in others.

As we cultivate an attitude of wonder, we also pray for protection against the distractions and disillusionment of the world that can dim our faith. Remind us that true healing comes from You alone. Strengthen our faith and help us to trust You in our struggles. Teach us to lean on You, to hold onto Your word, and to share in the joy of Your works, just as the healed man held Peter and John tightly in his gratitude.

We seek to understand deeper the connection between faith, healing, and community. May we not only seek our own healing but also desire to see those around us healed and restored. In Jesus’ name, we pray for a mighty outpouring of Your Spirit—a revival of healing in our hearts, communities, and churches, that we may experience together the incredible workings of Your grace.

Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer. May we continue to keep our hearts open and our eyes fixated on You. We trust in Your miraculous power, and we are forever grateful for Your unending love. Amen.
